COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION SERVICES
Community Services strives to promote individualized services and gives people the opportunity to be active members of their community.
- Computer training and literacy instruction. This is achieved through a partnership with À la Page and the Upper Canada School Board.
- Communication programs
- Acquiring cooking skills. People participate in cooking classes as well as serve hot meals to the people we support
- Recreational services ranging from afternoons at the spa, attending church services, bowling, music, horseback riding, swimming, etc.;
- Support to people to become active volunteers in their community. Some of the current opportunities exist at: La Soupiere (soup kitchen), two local schools (delivering a breakfast program) and delivering muffin baskets to business.
It is both challenging and rewarding supporting people to explore new and interesting options in their community and to build relationships
